Michal Strnad is a Czech businessman, chairman and chief executive of Czechoslovak Group (CSG), a defense company that makes ammunition, military vehicles, trucks and radars.[2] On the Forbes 2026 billionaires list, a snapshot taken on March 24, 2026, he was 68th in the world with an estimated $31.1 billion.[1]

He controls about 85% of CSG through his company CSG FIN.[2]
How the fortune was made
CSG grew out of Excalibur Army, which his father, Jaroslav Strnad, founded in 1995 after running a scrapyard.[2] The family brought its businesses together as Excalibur Group in 2014, renamed it Czechoslovak Group in 2016, and Michal Strnad took ownership from his father in 2018.[2] CSG bought ammunition makers in Spain and Italy (Fiocchi) and agreed in 2023 to buy The Kinetic Group, whose brands include Federal and Remington Ammunition.[2]
Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, CSG has become a major supplier of military equipment and ammunition to Ukraine; its revenue from those supplies rose from about €400 million in 2023 to €1.7 billion in 2024.[2] Its stock-market listing in January 2026 valued CSG at €25 billion, the largest defense listing on record according to Euronext, and Strnad kept control.[2]
